You know you've just become a mom in Europe when...

You know you've just become a mom in Europe when...

*People call you mama (or mum) and papa instead of mom and dad
*Your stroller won't fit down the isle of the grocery store
*The moms in your baby club group are from all over the world
*You find your metro pass in your diaper bag
*You have to go down 5 flights of stairs to take out the diaper trash
*Then when you decide to try cloth diapers, it takes FOREVER to dry because you don't have a dryer
*Your neighbors and people on the street suddenly want to talk with you because you have a baby
*You have to buy a rain cover for your stroller
*There's a baby day at the symphony (how cool is that!)
*You go all over town with your baby in a sling
*Just when you think you're gettin the baby-in-a-sling-thing down pretty good, you see a woman go by carrying a baby in a sling with a huge backpack on her back, a diaper bag at her side, and strolling another kid while walking faster than you
*Just when you think you're doin good goin for walks with the stroller, a mom goes by on roller blades while pushing her kid in the stroller
*People ask you how many kilos your baby weighs
*Little kids come up to your stroller and point saying, "kisbaba, kisbaba!"
*Your pediatrician speaks several languages
*Baby clothes and accessories cost 2 or 3 times as much
*Friends want to come over just to take their picture with your baby
*The baby stuff you buy has several languages on it, but not English
*You can breastfeed in public and no one will give you strange looks
*People make way for you, open doors for you, give up seats for you, let you go first, wait for you

ah, lovely Europe
